Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
An attachment-based approach to understanding emotion and rebuilding connection.
What is EFT?
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is an attachment-based approach that looks at the emotions underneath recurring conflict or disconnection, and how those emotions shape the way people relate to each other. It's widely used in couples work, and also applies to individual therapy.
What does it look like?
Your therapist helps you identify the patterns and emotions driving a conflict or disconnection, so you can respond to what's actually going on rather than getting stuck in the same cycle.
EFT is one of several approaches our therapists draw on, alongside CBT, DBT, and others. Which one fits is something you work out together, not something you have to decide in advance.
